Jimmy Atkin

Development Manager

Since completing degrees in property and commerce, Jimmy has a gained a breadth of experience on development projects of all sizes, types, and complexity ranging from small brownfield projects to larger-scale apartment and greenfield subdivisions. A recent example is working as the development manager on a full universal and accessible-designed apartment project in Mount Albert. This required feasibility assessment, resource consenting, and leading a business case approval process that will result in new social housing apartments for those of all mobility levels.

Jimmy’s strengths lie in strategic thinking, risk management, and a focus on striving always to get the best outcomes for his clients and ultimate end user. As such, he prides himself on delivering projects, on time, budget, and to a quality expected from project inception onwards.

Jimmy is also always on the lookout for better, more efficient ways of achieving project objectives. By way of illustration, he played an integral part in piloting a new project delivery methodology initiative for Kāinga Ora that reduced the overall pre-construction stages of projects significantly and led to greater collaboration of project team members and stakeholders. The focus of the initiative was on an obtaining an in-depth understanding of the design process, from site layout to approved building consent and ultimately lessons learned on site where design variations are required, impacting time, cost, and quality.

Jimmy is based in Egmont Dixon’s Wellington office and is enjoying his new hometown and working on projects across the regions.
