Gerard Logan

Development Lead

Gerard has a deservedly impressive and respected reputation, with a background in private sector (property and investment) and government property leadership roles at a senior level. Most recently as National Manager, Survey & Legalisation and Manager of Infrastructure Property at Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, he was responsible for the national management of the $1.8 billion property infrastructure portfolio held for future transportation related projects. Regional delivery, procurement, writing of property management service delivery contracts and leading the transition of contract service providers in two regions provided plenty of variety.

Consulting across all property related sectors over 12 years, he has a gift for identifying strategic opportunities and delivering results through focused leadership, drive, enthusiasm, determination and at times, sheer tenacity and commitment to make projects and initiatives happen.

Gerard brings excellent governance experience having been a former president of the Property Institute of NZ and positions on several boards.  Gerard has an MBA in Business Strategy from Massey University as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from Lincoln University (Valuation & Management).

When asked for highlights, several are top of mind: creating a ten-year development pipeline for 500+ independent retirement apartments, master-plans for numerous brown-field sites, and then the co-founding of a national valuation and specialist property advisory business specialising in the development of asset sale strategies, evaluation of long term strategies of large leasehold land portfolios, business and financial restructuring of property businesses.

In his spare time, Gerard keeps himself fit and last year completed the Tour Aotearoa cycling event (length of NZ) and seeks out other adventures, including the 2022 Coast to Coast.  He is currently running a refurbishment project of his own home. Gerard is what you call an ‘active relaxer’ for sure.
